To promote and support divine and Christian worship as taught in the
examples and teachings contained in the Holy scriptures of the Bible.
The churches of Christ hold firm to the belief that we should speak where the
Bible speaks and be silent where the Bible is silent... exclude additions or
subtractions! We plead for the word of God as the sole authority in all
religious matters.
Therefore, we do not make our own doctrines, conditions for membership, nor do we have an earthly headquarters.
Remembering that scripture is our source of authority in all these matters and Jesus is the foundation on which the church is built. Rom:1:16: "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." Even though in heaven, Jesus is still the head of the church. We look to him for our guidance and His words are found in the Bible. We seek to please Him through obedience to His word as stated in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." Heb:2:3 "How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;"
Luke 22:18-20: 18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of
the vine, until the kingdom of God shall
come.
19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave
unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in
remembrance of me.
20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup
is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
Acts 20:7: And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came
together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the
morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
